地名与沿革[edit]
1958年公社化时，当地五个自然村（江村、森木根、中山村、榃连垌、云么村）编成一个大队，政府为它取名红光，寓意红火、前景光明。[1]此后随公社改区公所，大队改称管理区，1986年区公所撤销、官圩设镇，到1998年管理区再改为村民委员会。[1]
江村故砖城[edit]
江村故砖城位于红光村，据百度百科，始建年代为南宋或宋末元初，现存城墙主体是明代重建的，2001年德庆县人民政府公布它为文物保护单位。原城高3.76米、厚0.35米，周长明代记载为539米、清代记载为480.5米，平面呈长方形，设四座城门，南门称仁和门；南城墙尚存约180米，北城墙及三座北门保存较完整。城墙在20世纪60年代被拆毁，门前留有石龟碑座，原立的“恩赐”碑刻有成化八年（1472年）立石的内容。它被认为是德庆保存较完整的明代砖城。[2]
