下陈村是广东省汕头市澄海区上华镇政府驻地所在的行政村，原名夏塘，在澄海城区西北约10千米，区域面积1.32平方公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传宋代廖姓人先在这里居住，称廖厝村，后遭盗贼洗劫，村民四散。此地曾是菊池一带“三塘”（廖厝塘、上顶塘、下塘）中的下塘；后来祖籍福建莆田的陈氏由丰顺迁入，民间遂称下陈。清嘉庆《澄海县志》雅称夏塘，1959年改名下陈。[1]

1953年夏塘与菊池合为夏塘乡，1956年南界、渡头两乡并入，1959年设下陈生产大队，归上华人民公社。[1]

经济[edit]

农业种植水稻、竹笋、荔枝、香蕉、珍珠番茄和玉米，工业有服装、工艺、毛织、玩具等。该页还提到，村里有一株较少见的菠萝蜜树，以及由泰国前总理乃比里自泰国移植的两株百花芒果树。[1]

下陈村在2021年、2022年进入淘宝村名单，2019年9月进入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
