历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明初海阳县归湖乡、鹳巢乡（今潮州市潮安区归湖镇、龙湖镇）的李姓人迁来，村原在韩江东溪西岸，称沙桃村。清嘉庆年间因洪水内迁现址，修沙堤挡水，叫新灵村；1909年因处在防洪堤外侧的沙坝上，改叫沙坝村。[1]
1953年起为沙坝乡的一部分，1959年设沙坝生产大队。[1]
人口民族[edit]
该页称全村776人，194户，耕地295亩，以种植业为主，兼养淡水鱼。[1]
