历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村所在处古时为湖泊，相传叫“莲花池”，故曾称莲花村，后取莲花居湖中央之意，改称湖心。村原有许、庄、林三个聚落。1953年与沙坝、下溪东、东林尾、涵头、吕厝合为沙坝乡，1984年设湖心乡。[1]

村概况载，全村546户，2189人，耕地681亩，鱼塘50亩。该页称湖心为革命老区和侨乡。[1]
