历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明初今莲上镇永新村的村民迁此建村，取名泰龙；因村后有溪流，后改称下溪东。1953年并入沙坝乡，1984年与东林美、涵吕、沙坝合设东林美乡。[1]
人口民族[edit]
该页称全村143户，631人，耕地224亩，是纯农村庄。2019年9月，下溪东进入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
