历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村创建于宋末，因在烟墩山旁而得名。明嘉靖四十二年（1563年）属澄海县中外莆都。1953年岛门、山边、云桥三村合为岛门乡，1984年山边、云乔、岛门合设岛门乡。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村简介载，现有人口1200多人，280户，耕地450亩，以农业为生。[1]
山边村在2022年进入淘宝村名单，2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
