历史沿革[edit]
村建于宋代。据博雅地名网，它与沙坝、东林美、下溪东、吕厝、涵头、麦厝合称“东林七村”，位居七村之首，故名东林头。1953年与陇尾、横陇合为陇尾乡，1956年并入沙坝乡，1984年设东林头乡。[1]

村简介载，全村1217人，305户，耕地496亩，其中旱地和水田461亩、林地35亩，是上华镇的经济作物区之一。村西有汕汾高速公路通过。[1]
