菊池村隶属广东省汕头市澄海区上华镇，是个行政村，在澄海城区西北约9千米，为宋代建村的老村，是解放战争时期的革命老区村。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，宋代黄姓因战乱从福建古田迁此定居。村前池塘四周弯曲，叫曲池，池边生野菊，“曲”与“菊”谐音，后雅化为菊池。^[1]百度百科则记全村占地28.6公顷，位于韩江三角洲平原中部，因池塘周围长满菊花而得名。^[2]

1953年菊池与夏塘合为夏塘乡，1956年并入夏塘乡，1959年属上华人民公社。^[1]

博雅地名网的村简介载，全村634人，140户，耕地近200亩；百度百科记158户、697人。^[1]^[2]

菊池原为纯农业村，集体经济薄弱，2008年被评为广东省生态示范村。2020年8月，成为首批「广东省一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产品为番茄。近年发展农文旅融合，办起“巷子市集”。^[1]^[2]

2021年9月，菊池被认定为「第二批全国乡村治理示范村」；2024年1月，入选「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」；2026年1月，又获「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号，并列入「2025年广东省美丽庭院特色村」名单。^[1]
