历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，元末明初福建蔡姓人迁来建村，得名蔡厝。清代起，南界蔡与南界王统称南界；1953年并入南界乡，1959年属南界生产大队，后分出为村。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村简介载，全村188户，820人，耕地275亩、山地28亩，种植以水稻为主。[1]
经济[edit]
村内有3家规模以上企业，村民另办毛织、塑料、印刷等小作坊十多家。2008年蔡厝被汕头市评为环境示范区。[1]
