历史沿革[edit]
相传明初福建莆田西石庵人迁此建村。村临莲阳河最窄处，形似漏斗，原称斗门，又因形如小岛称蓬岛，斗、岛潮语同音，后定名岛门。[1]
1953年与山边、云桥合为岛门乡，1959年设岛门生产大队，1984年云乔、山边、岛门合设岛门乡。[1]
