东升村在赤坭镇的西南部，面积约4.24平方千米，下辖6个村民小组，总人口950多人（博雅地名网，未注明年份）。名字取旭日东升之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

东升由东边岭、黄竹㙟、上把水、隔坑四村合组而成，1957年起为高级农业社，次年公社化改称大队；1981年曾叫东边大队，1984年并入国泰乡。1987年设立东升村委会，先隶属赤坭区公所，当年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。[1]

经济[edit]

村在丘陵山岗地带，距镇区约18公里，集体经济靠出租砖厂、灰场和包装材料厂的场地。山上种速生桉，水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘养殖四大家鱼。[1]

  • “民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位（广东省2018年度名单，2019年9月公布）。[1]
