历史沿革[edit]
明代建村，早期住户有何、徐、曾三姓，分别从番禺、三华、渔潭迁来。1958年改为荷塘大队，1963年一度与横沙、荷溪合为横沙大队，1974年再度分出；1983年改荷塘乡，1986年转为荷塘村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
集体收入靠出租鱼塘、土地和厂房，农业种植水稻、花生，养殖四大家鱼和瘦肉型猪。[1]
