国泰村在赤坭镇的西部边缘，下辖6个村民小组，面积约3.62平方千米，总人口1020多人（博雅地名网，未注明年份）。村名取国泰民安之意，旧时是赤坭西境的一处圩市，称国泰圩。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

国泰圩是赤坭镇西边的集市，抗战时期遭日军轰炸焚毁，圩市从此消失。1957年成立高级社，后称国泰大队，1987年才改为村委会，1987年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。^[1]

村在镇的西北部，东起缠岗村，南接珊瑚村，西至佛山市三水区程洞村，北邻清远市石角镇兴仁村。省道S114线和山前旅游大道从村旁经过，花都至肇庆高速公路在村中设有出入口。^[2]

村里曾有陶粒厂、五金厂、碳酸钙厂和塑料厂等企业，传统种植水稻、花生，养殖四大家鱼，近年推广冬瓜种植。^[1]据百度百科，村里还有香水柠檬种植基地，并引进中国热带农业科学院广州实验站，试种可可、香草兰等热带作物。^[2]
