历史沿革[edit]
村子建于明末清初，当时叫钱溪村；因聚居在一座矮岗上，四周有小溪（护城河）环绕、外围是低洼的田野，改称缠岗。[1]另有说法认为村后河涌如丝带缠村，且建村已有五百多年。[3]
公社化的1958年，缠岗改称大队；后来鹤栖㘵、新屋仔、大村、瓦岭几处并进缠岗村。1987年设立缠岗村委会，先隶属赤坭区公所，当年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
旧村为清一色青砖民房、祠堂和私塾，村头、村尾、村后各有一座更楼。现存较完整的清代建筑23座，采用岭南传统的梳式布局，山墙为锅耳式，屋脊作龙船脊。[3]村内还有广州宝桑园等以蚕桑文化为主题的生态旅游点。[1]
经济[edit]
村里有针织厂、粮油加工厂等企业；农业种植水稻、花生，鱼塘养殖白鸭和四大家鱼。[1][2]2021年9月，入选第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村名单（休闲农业）。[1]2024年7月，缠岗桥重建通车。[2]
