历史沿革[edit]
1826年，徐、苏两姓从汕尾的潮阳一带迁到这里立村，当时叫珠榄；土地改革时改名六村，后与前进村合并为港澳大队，“文革”时改称东新村。1982年改称东新渔业生产大队，约在1983年易名东升，此后设管理区（1988年），1998年称东升村。据该条目所注，1983年的时间来自村中老人回忆，尚无文件佐证。[2]
村名“东升”取希望与光明之意。[3]
