东山街道是广东省广州市越秀区东南部的街道，东面以广州大道为界，西面抵龟岗大马路与东湖路，北面到中山一路，南面濒珠江，辖区面积2.88平方千米，下辖14个社区，没有行政村。[1][2] 街道办事处设在寺贝通津17号。[1] 辖区内有中共三大会址、新河浦历史文化街区、东山湖公园等处，也是旧时「东山洋楼」的集中地。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这里归番禺县鹿步司管辖；1912年民国建立后，划入广州市东山区。[1] 东山一名来自明成化十六年（1480年）建成的东山寺；民国二十年（1931年）广州设东山区公所，是市属行政区以「东山」为名之始。[4]

新中国成立后，1950年1月先设东山区第二街，6月改为保安街道；东湖公社立于1960年，次年转为东湖街道。[1] 2005年东山区并入越秀区，2010年12月东湖街道改称东山街道，用意是延续东山的历史文化。[1][2][5]

地理环境[edit]

街道旧称东湖街，名称取自境内的东湖。[1] 辖区临珠江北岸，南部的五羊邨一带原是郊外的稻田和鱼塘。[2][6] 东山湖公园位于东湖路123号，总面积约33公顷，水域占六成以上，1958年4月由群众义务劳动开建，1959年开放，1963年「东湖春晓」入选羊城八景。[7]

人口民族[edit]

据2017年的统计，街道有户籍居民24951户、83213人，常住88574人。[2] 根据2020年第七次全国人口普查，常住人口为7.93万人，在越秀区各街道中排第4位。[1]

经济[edit]

中共广东省委、南部战区、广东省政协和中国铁路广州局集团的机关设在辖区内，商务楼宇有五羊新城广场、泰恒大厦等，另有龟岗商业街。[2] 在广州市2025年的评定中，东山街道（2026年1月公布）入选高质量充分就业街镇。[1]

文化[edit]

东山口一带在清末民初之后逐渐成为教会学校和华侨住宅区：美南浸信会1903年起在寺贝通津购地，1908年前后建成培道中学校舍和培正中学的白课堂；美国华侨黄葵石在1915年买地，辟出龟岗大马路及一至五马路，其后军政人员也来此建公馆。[4] 这些二三十年代的西式独院住宅外墙多为红砖清水墙，民间称「东山洋楼」，现存600余栋，集中在龟岗、新河浦和梅花村。[8]

2016年以后，庙前西街一带因城市更新和年轻店主入驻，成为服饰和音乐店铺集中的街区。[4] 越秀区近年以「东山印象」为名，引入潮玩、特色民宿等新业态。[9]

名胜古迹[edit]

新河浦历史文化街区内有红砖洋房400多栋，院落低矮、中西合璧，2000年列入广州市首批「历史文化保护区」，2020年成为广东省级历史文化街区，2019年获联合国「亚洲都市景观奖」；街区的红色文化以中共三大会址纪念馆为标志，华侨文化以「五大侨园」为代表。[9][10]

中共三大会址纪念馆设在恤孤院路，门牌3号。中共三大于1923年6月召开，到会代表40名，包括陈独秀、李大钊和毛泽东，会址后来毁于日机轰炸，2006年7月1日落成开放；馆区由遗址广场、旧址春园和历史陈列馆等组成，经2020年的改扩建，2021年6月重新开放。[11] 春园在新河浦路22、24、26号，三幢楼并排而立，各三层，建于1922年，是全国重点文物保护单位（第七批）「中国共产党第三次全国代表大会会址」的一部分。[12]

基督教东山堂原称东山浸信会堂，在寺贝通津，1908年奠基、翌年建成；现在的礼拜堂改建于1927年，为两层的钢筋混凝土建筑，1999年7月起为广州市文物保护单位。[13] 辖内的茂园在江岭南2号，列入广州市文物保护单位（第九批）。[2]
