历史沿革[edit]
1951年归登云乡管辖，1957年改属登云管理区，1958年并入登云大队。1978年为东山大队，1983年乡政府设于此，1987年改设村委会，1989年一度称管理区，1999年再度设立村委会，沿用至今。[2]
地名由来[edit]
村名来自最早迁居此处的叶氏祖屋：祖屋建在山脚下，坐东朝西，面向日出的方向，故名东山。[3]
人物与文物[edit]
叶卓（1891—1930）原名卓庆，是东山村人。1922年他加入广州石行工会，1925年春加入中国共产党。[1]
叶卓故居位于东山村东苏，建于清代，为双围龙式的客家民居，是第十批广东省文物保护单位。[4]2022年的规划提出以叶卓故居为核心，打造「红韵东山」红色教育平台。[7]
产业与典型村培育[edit]
2024年，东山村典型村培育投入财政资金45.75万元、社会资金35.2万元，完成31项培育指标；整村房屋外立面改造11户，改造四小园约30个，种植树木3640棵，并对叶卓故居周边道路进行了约350米的硬底化。[5]
东山村有230亩的航天丝苗米种植基地，连年丰收。2024年以来，全镇在东山、梅花、高南等村新增高标准农田建设面积2755.98亩。[6]2025年的工作计划把东山村、天云村、梅花村定位为连片打造农文旅融合的典型村示范带。[5]
荣誉[edit]
2021年4月，东山村获评2020年度龙川县文明村镇。[1]
