东山村属湛江市霞山区东新街道，前身为1987年设立的东山管理区，当时归海头镇[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1987年设东山管理区，属霞山的海头镇。此后在1999年改为东山村委会，2003年辖区重划，村转归东新街道[1]。
荣誉[edit]
据博雅地名网，东山村在2022年9月获认定为「2022年湛江市文明村」和「2022年湛江市先进文明村」[1]；2026年3月又被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」[1]。
