华乐街道是广州市越秀区下辖的街道，位于区境中部，街道名取自境内的华乐路。[1][3] 1986年设街道办事处，现辖10个社区，办事处在麓苑路。[1][3] 辖区约1.2平方千米，2011年末户籍人口53320人。[1] 区内有环市东商圈的淘金一带，[5] 也有1950年代动工兴建的华侨新村，后者是广州市首批历史文化街区之一。[6]
历史沿革[edit]
街道所在一带，明清时隶属番禺县鹿步司；民国十年（1921年）起划入广州市大东区；新中国成立后，这片地方先后由黄花岗、大东两个街道分管。[1][3]
1986年1月，华乐街道成立，当时属东山区；2005年东山区并入越秀区后，改隶越秀区。[3] 街道下的居委会也经过调整：2002年前后，青菜东、邮电等居委会与原华乐、先烈南一等居委会合并；2014年，螺岗居委会并入邮电社区，同年又新设花苑社区。[3] 维基百科列出的12个社区里还有螺岗、淘苑两个，而百度百科和博雅地名网均记为10个社区，本条以后者为准。[1][2][3]
地理环境[edit]
街道东邻黄花岗街道，南面隔东风东路与农林、大塘两街道相接，西面是建设街道，北沿广九铁路与登峰街道交界。[1] 面积在百度百科中为1.2平方千米，维基百科记为1.28平方千米。[1][2] 气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]
广州地铁5号线在辖区内设淘金站。[2]
人口民族[edit]
2011年末，街道户籍人口为53320人。[1] 博雅地名网引述第七次全国人口普查结果，称2020年街道人口为4.42万人，在越秀区各街道中排第13位；维基百科则写常住人口5.38万人，未注明年份。[2][3]
经济[edit]
据统计，2011年街道的社会消费品零售总额达128.28亿元，较2010年增加30.23%，服务业总产出为172.86亿元，较2010年增加14.41%。[1]
淘金一带紧邻广州火车站和环市路，1970年代以后逐步发展成商贸区：白云宾馆于1976年建成，友谊商店在1981年开业，花园酒店在1985年开业，丽柏广场于2004年投入运营。[5][8] 这一带在珠江新城建成前，曾是广州的中央商务区之一。[4][8]
名胜古迹[edit]
华侨新村建于1950年代，由政府与归侨共同出资兴建，有独立庭院177座、公寓291座，已列入广州市首批历史文化街区。[6][7]
淘金坑北侧原有天主教墓地，称「圣山」，同治二年（1863年）建立，旁边建有教堂；今天胜社区一带曾是教徒聚居的村落。[4]
