历史沿革[edit]
进入民国后，这一带归广州市西北区。[1][2]到1974年，解放北街的第九居委会和三元里街的桂花岗居委会合在一起，成立了流花街道。[1][2]街名取自境内南汉时期的流花桥。[2]
2021年10月底，街道辖5个社区。[1]维基百科所载的名单另有兰圃社区，而博雅地名网记载该居委会于2014年并入今流花桥社区。[3][11]
地理环境[edit]
街道的东面从飞鹅岭、广州雕塑公园一带起，邻登峰、洪桥两个街道；南面以流花路和象岗山为限，对面是六榕街道；西面沿环市西路，连着荔湾区；北面靠京广铁路与桂花路，隔着矿泉街道和白云区。[1]辖区面积百度百科记作1.77平方千米，博雅地名网与维基百科记作1.81平方千米。[1][2][3]
人口民族[edit]
第七次全国人口普查（2020年11月1日零时）登记的常住人口为13045人。[1]较早的一份街道资料则写有4605户居民、共19295人，涉及汉、回、壮、满等14个民族。[2]
交通[edit]
辖区内的广州站是京广、广深等铁路的交会车站，站址在火车站社区一带。[7]它的前身是1910年动工的大沙头站，1951年改用现名，1974年4月12日迁到现址运营。[7]广州地铁2号线、5号线在广州火车站设站，11号线设流花站。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
清真先贤古墓位于解放北路901号，占地约2200平方米，国务院在2013年把它列入「第七批全国重点文物保护单位」。[5]相传唐贞观三年（629年）为安葬来华传教的宛葛素而建，也有学者认为建成时间或墓主身份另有其说。[5][6]墓旁有「四十一位坟」，墓园内现存建筑为明代风格，西侧于2010年增建礼拜大殿。[5][6]
兰圃在解放北路与环市西路交汇处，前身是1951年建的植物标本园，1962年改称兰圃，1976年对外开放，栽培兰花200余种。[8][9]流花桥在流花路东段北侧，始建于南汉，现存桥面为清代重修，是长5.48米、宽4.55米的梁式石桥，2023年1月入选《广州市地名保护名录（第一批）》。[10]
