东山村在隆都镇东部，距店市约5公里，因村东靠西陵山而得名，又称大东山。[1][2]元末明初，福建陈氏的一支迁到这里立村。[2]村里以加工凉果为主要工业，品种有几十种，销往湖南、温州、福州、厦门等地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据地名资料，陈氏德谅（博雅地名网写作德凉）的次子竹埜起初迁居田边，不久再迁到东山建村。[2]此地旧隶饶平县隆眼城都，1946年一度并入潮安县，1949年10月划归澄海县隆都区。[1]
1953年，南溪与大东山合称南溪乡；1959年设东山生产大队；1984年1月设东山乡；1986年11月撤区置镇，设东山村；1990年9月又设东山管理区，1998年9月起称东山村。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料记载，东山村有住户544户、2274人，耕地520亩，种番石榴、青枣和甘蔗；另有山地550亩，种橄榄、柿、桃、李等。[1]凉果有金华李、雪山梅、八珍梅、芒果片、蜜饯等。[1]2009年人均收入3485元，其中工业产值8370万元、农业产值1200万元，同年被评为省卫生村。[1]
