历史沿革[edit]

村中原有一口大池塘，塘里养殖水浮莲，村名由此而来。[1][3]

公社化之后，1958年成立莲塘大队；1984年改称莲塘村委会。[1][4]

地理环境[edit]

全村面积25平方千米，其中耕地约3000亩，山地约15000亩，地貌以丘陵为主。[2][3]博雅地名网与百度百科都称该村为全省最大的村落。[1][3]
