坑尾村在内坑镇南部，原名匡美，因张姓迁入而又称梅美，后演变为坑尾。村内现仅有张、曾两姓。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

坑尾村原名匡美。因张姓自南安梅岭迁入，故又称梅美；“坑尾”则是“匡美”音近演变而来。[1]

据博雅地名网，本村张姓先祖为宋代的张弥皋，元代时，张姓一支由南安岭兜迁入，看守墓地，此后繁衍至今。村中原有江、曾、杨、郑等姓，后仅余张、曾二姓。[1][2]

2021年12月，本村被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」。[1]
