历史沿革[edit]
南宋咸淳四年（1268年），相传有三十三姓共九十七人携家眷南迁，其中何、区两姓来此定居。[1] 村前小溪名「沐水」，又叫沐河，形如一条盘伏的龙，村名由此而来。[1]
1958年称蟠龙大队，1983年称蟠龙乡，1986年称蟠龙管理区，1998年起为蟠龙村民委员会。[1]
经济与社会[edit]
2002年人口2906人，耕地125公顷，多为山坑田和梯田，主种水稻、花生，家庭副业以养母猪、育猪苗为主；私营企业有粮油加工、制衣、皮鞋、石矿等厂，村中建有润鹏小学与卫生站，华侨和港澳同胞合计1576人。[1] 2021年和2023年，蟠龙村及其黄岗村先后获广东省卫生村称号。[1] 《桃源镇总体规划》把蟠龙列为以工业为主的村。[2]
