古蚕村属广东省江门市鹤山市雅瑶镇，是一个行政村，在镇境东北、大雁山南面，距镇区5公里，是古蚕河的发源地，辖古蚕、古蚕新村两条自然村。[1]村民主要是胡、李两姓，胡氏于南宋绍兴二年（1132年）由新会白藤迁来立村。[1]2021年获评广东省卫生村。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，胡氏从新会白藤上村迁到此处开村，时在1132年。清代属古劳都，民国至1949年后初期属鹤山一区；1957年并乡划归越塘乡，次年入雅瑶公社。古蚕、贤明两个大队于1962年合为一队，1983年称古蚕乡，1986年撤区建镇后称现名，1993年鹤山撤县设市时划入沙坪控制区。[1]
百度百科词条称，村名源于地形像一条睡着的蚕，村里保存有胡氏族谱，并修缮了门闾、社坛、祖祠和文明塔。[3]

村分15个村民小组，耕地1508亩，山塘水库110亩，鱼塘225亩，坑垌田居多。[1]

主种水稻、粉葛和蔬菜，旧时的老古烟和粉葛都是当地有名的土特产；村内有个体私营工商企业21家。[1]
