历史沿革[edit]
1998年11月，怀集县政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准设立石莹村村民委员会，而村委会就设在石莹村，故以此为名。[1]
该村1958年编为生产大队，1983年11月改设乡，1987年又改为村委会，1989年4月起设管理区，1998年11月改称村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
村处丘陵山岗地带，利用落差用管道引水建水电站。农业以造林、种麻为主，水田种水稻、花生，养牛。村情材料称这里是全镇离圩镇最远的革命老区村。[1]
