历史沿革[edit]
村名的说法是六个姓氏的村民联保，每村为一堡。南宋景炎年间（1276—1278年），林、许、蔡、钟、黎、陈等姓先祖从南雄迁来立村；明代及以前称“南庄”，清代县志已有“六堡圩”之名[1]。
民国时期也属「第六区牛湾六堡乡（又称云峰乡）」。1951年单设六堡乡，1955年属罗坑区，1957年并入云峰乡，次年起先后为六堡管理区和大队，隶牛湾人民公社；1984年恢复六堡乡，随后改设村委会，1988年又称管理区[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村总面积3平方千米，耕地785亩，鱼塘149亩，山地1900亩，常住486户、1452人，另有外来暂住人口350人。村东近芦冲村，南靠上升村，北连升平村[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有始建于宋代的云峰古寺，每年有群众和港澳同胞前来拜祭[1]。
文化[edit]
2023年5月，村内的华丰村入选2022年度广东省卫生村[1]。
