莲塘村位于福厦公路（324线）以北，全村包括莲塘、宏路、东岗、店头四个自然村。博雅地名网载，全村778户，总人口2938人，耕地约1.07平方千米。[1]

村口曾有一口种满莲花的大池塘，村子因此得名。[2]

农业[edit]

村民种植以水稻、甘薯、花生为主，兼种蔬菜和马铃薯，农产品多供自家食用，少有商品化生产。单靠农业收入难以维持生活，多数村民还要外出谋生。[1]

沿革[edit]

清代属民安里西莲塘保；民国时属民石乡莲塘保；1950年归第六区管辖，设莲塘乡；1955年改隶马巷区。1964年设莲塘大队，1984年改为内厝乡莲塘村委会，2003年划归翔安区。[3]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月命名莲塘村为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2021年9月，莲塘村入选「第二批全国乡村治理示范村」名单；国家卫生健康委老龄司于2021年8月公布，莲塘村为「2021年全国示范性老年友好型社区」。[1]
