元洲村是广州市增城区石滩镇下辖的行政村，在石滩墟镇东部，与墟镇隔着一条河，水路和广深铁路、石三公路都经过村里。^[1]

它原来是增江中的一块圆形沙洲，取“圆”的谐音写作“元”，所以叫元洲。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

人民公社化时元洲同邻近两村编成第9营，1961年改作大队，大队部设在元洲村，因而叫元洲大队；1987年起设元洲村民委员会。^[1]

据博雅地名网（未注明统计年份）的介绍，村耕地1458亩、鱼塘250亩，分5个合作社，704户、户籍人口3056人；村内有两座集体厂房和十多家私营企业，种香蕉200多亩、蔬菜近1000亩。每年端午节村里举办龙舟活动。^[1]

2023年8月，元洲村获「2022年度广州市美丽乡村」称号。^[1]
