东坑村位于东坑镇中心地带，下辖东涌、岭贝塘、江坑、石中市、塘唇5个自然村。村名据博雅地名网记载，因村子位于一条水坑的东侧而得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

东坑镇政府网称，村始祖卢创基约生于1225年，沿峡口进入寒溪支流，在东坑塘唇一带搭棚立村，立村至今已有六百多年，记为元末明初立村。[1]

博雅地名网则记载，卢创基于南宋末年由南雄珠玑巷迁来，在塘唇东侧立村。两书对立村年代的记述不同，此处并列。[2]

此后村经历合作社、大队、管理区等阶段，1999年改为村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

村内有镇级文物保护单位谦吉堂与卢氏宗祠。[1] 东坑镇传统的「二月初二卖身节」习俗，东坑镇政府网称其起源于东坑村。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

东坑镇政府网称，村依托镇内「一河一路三区域」的发展思路，盘活科技路周边土地，对内河两侧的物业升级改造，建成百顺公园、东坑村荔枝公园等公园。[1]

截至2024年度，村组两级集体经营性收入约六千万元，集体资产规模约五亿元。[1] 页面未说明户籍与流动人口的统计时点。

村方称获得「广东省卫生村」「东莞市市容环境优美村」等荣誉。[1] 2022年10月，东坑村上榜2022年淘宝村名单。[2]
