东坑村是佗城镇的行政村，所在的一带旧称“四甲”。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
博雅地名网称，清代到民国，这一带归亨田保管辖，行保甲制，叶布、东坑、三印合为一甲，佛子前、桥头、上峰又合为一甲，总计四甲，外人统称四甲，村名由此而来。[1]1953年属四甲乡，1957年归四甲管理区，1963年成立四甲坑大队，1984年与叶布、三印再合并为四甲乡，1987年分出四甲东坑村，1989年称管理区，1999年成立村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，东坑村列入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位。[1]
