新村处于陆河县新田镇的西端，面积8.89平方千米，有9个自然村，镇内的清霞寺和再头水库都在村境内。[1]

基本情况[edit]

村情页载，全村林地约1.3万亩，耕地约2300亩（含水田1200亩）；472户，户籍人口2350人，常住1765人。[1] 国道G235线从村内通过，村民种火龙果、荔枝、龙眼等亚热带水果。[1] 博雅地名网另记村内有种植西番莲的农场和一座良种肉猪养猪场。[2]

历史沿革与荣誉[edit]

新村原属横陇大队，因村落分散，1968年单立为大队，至1983年；1986年称新村村委会，1999年改称新村村民委员会。[2] 2020年12月，新村获广东省爱卫会授予2020年广东省卫生村称号；2021年9月，以肉牛列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[2]
