竹园社区是佛山市高明区荷城街道的城区社区，居委会驻地前原有一片较大的竹园，社区由此得名。[1][3]辖区下辖扶丽、苏棠2个居民小组，面积约1.8平方千米。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

竹园居委会1993年6月成立时，同秀丽、民众、玫瑰三个居委会在一处办公，属高明县高明镇；到1996年4月才独立办公，并改属高明市荷城街道。2004年秀丽居委会并入竹园居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

社区东临沿江路和西江，西靠扶丽后山，南到沧江路，辖区内的黄翁山树木茂盛。简介称居民约5100户、人口约1.7万人，区里的人大政协、财政等机关和多家银行也设在这里，另有莲花市场和一条摩托车行街（未注明年份）。[2]

2024年8月，竹园社区进入佛山市「百千万工程」第二批典型镇村名单；2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
