历史沿革[edit]
塘边村明清时属崇化乡田心都三图，南岸村属古坝都。1958年设塘边、塘肚大队，隶属高鹤县西安公社，1977年自塘肚大队分出南岸大队；1983年分别设塘边乡、南岸乡，1987年设村委会，属西安镇。[3]
2004年，塘边、南岸两个村委会合并成立塘南村委会，归西安街道；2005年区划调整后改属荷城街道。[3]
人口与经济[edit]
村简介载，面积约7平方千米，有效耕作面积5500亩，共有10个自然村，717户、2986人；自然村为霄陵、大塘江、大塘边、塘边，以及存心、巷口、南岸、俊洲、水口和塘伙。在村村民以种养为主，有鱼塘3500亩、水稻1000亩，另有1000亩土地发包种植瓜菜和花木；外出村民以务工为主。大塘江、南岸、塘伙、俊洲4个自然村曾被评为广东省卫生村和佛山市「十好和谐文明村」。[2]
2021年12月，塘南村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
