历史沿革[edit]
村的前身塘肚村明清时属古坝都，民国时属三区普安乡。1958年成立塘肚大队，隶属高鹤县西安公社，1983年设塘肚乡，1987年设村委会，属西安镇。2004年塘肚村与东西村两个村委会合并，设立南洲村委会，归西安街道；2005年区划调整后改属荷城街道。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
村简介称，全村1039户、4202人，有耕地3800亩、山林5600亩、鱼塘1980亩，村民以种养和出租土地为主要收入来源，村固定资产810万元。[1]
广东省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单中，有南洲村（东西村花卉苗木）；2023年11月，入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1]
