沙溪社区在汕头市潮南区峡山街道，324国道边，毗邻街道办事处所在地，居民姓周和萧，其中周姓约占55%。社区人均耕地是全街道最少的。2017年10月获评第一批广东省卫生村。[1][2]

历史与现状[edit]

解放初期，沙溪与桃溪、西港、桃陈、董塘、新乡六个自然村合为六和区；1956年改编新和大队，后由西港、沙溪、董塘、桃陈四村组成，驻沙溪；1987年起称沙溪管区。[1]

社区439户、2417人，耕地仅150亩，村民多经商办厂，有三十多家针织、服装等企业。2009年工农业总产值1487万元，人均年收入5190元。[1]

据百度百科，名字来自峡山大溪流经此地，汛期泥沙淤积。[3]
