沟头村在汕头市潮南区峡山街道西部，与司马浦镇的下店、沟美村相接，因地处十八湾水上游而名。天顺年间（1457—1464年），薛茂榆从海阳龙溪凤陇（今潮安区庵埠镇薛陇）搬来，是薛氏祖先，村民以薛姓居多。[1]
沿革与现状[edit]
建国后先后并入洋陂乡、陈沟乡，1960年底起设沟头大队，1984年改乡，1999年5月称沟头村。[1]
全村800户、4547人，耕地891亩，二十多家企业做印刷、包装、针织、服装。2009年人均年收入4692元，工农业总产值2913万元；2020至2022年上榜淘宝村名单。[1][2]
