董塘社区在汕头市潮南区峡山街道中部，广汕公路（324国道）两侧，居民都姓周。社区创村于明嘉靖十年（1531年），名称出自峡山大溪支流汇聚成塘，又传早年有董姓人家先在此居住。2026年3月，董塘被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖十年（1531年），周慎斋由桃溪乡迁居到此，为董塘周氏之祖。此前长期属潮阳县黄陇都，1921年起归第五区。[2]
建国初先并入六和乡，后改并新和乡，1977年设董塘大队；1984年与沙溪、桃陈合为董塘乡，1987年改居委，2004年3月起称董塘社区。[1]
经济[edit]
辖区面积392亩，352户、2059人，有针织、刺绣等企业四十多家。金光路、西环路沿线有金塘商场、金城商场等沿街铺面一千多间，是峡山街道经贸活跃的社区。2019年9月，社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1][2]
