村分四个片区，土地约4385亩，耕地1728亩。2009年工农业总产值超过1.8亿元，人均年收入5095元；上档次的企业七十多家，家庭作坊134家，做织布、印染、绣花和制衣。[2]
村里的上东浦学校集小学、初中于一体，2004年评为潮南区一级学校。传统民居有驷马拖车、四点金、下山虎，金光南路东西贯穿。2022年上榜淘宝村名单。[2][1]
