红光村是乳源瑶族自治县大桥镇的行政村，村委会驻地在镇域北部，与镇政府驻地相距10公里，到县城45公里。村下设8个自然村，共278户、1612人。[1]村名的来历：当时当地农民生活十分贫困，取名红光，寓意日子红火、走向光明。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国之初这里是红光乡，1958年成为红光大队；红光乡政府成立于1983年，三年后改称红光村委会，1989年又叫管理区，1998年恢复村委会之名，此后未变。[1]

经济[edit]

该村1720亩耕地（水田1200亩、旱地520亩），种植以反季节蔬菜为主，水稻、玉米为补充；2008年村民人均年收入为3618元。[1]
