东村位于阳西县织篢镇，村名经“东窝村”一名演变而来，1953年统一为东村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子地形像一个窝，最初称东窝村。后来村子分成上、下两个东村，到1953年才统一改称东村。村委会原驻东村，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

东村在1949年属阳江县第六区，1953年归第十三区，称东村乡。1956年划入织篢区，1958年5月并入织篢乡，年底改隶织篢人民公社。1959年改为东村生产大队，1983年设东村乡，1986年改设村委会。1988年后隶属阳西县织篢镇，1989年改设管理区，1999年改设东村村委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月，「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单公布，东村村在列。[1]
