地名由来[edit]
政府网站称，清道光年间，万屋村的一部分人迁来立村，原名金炉沙。传说村旁古庙里有一只金香炉，后来村人离散。一位书生在庙前题联时，误将“炉”写作“鳌”，村名遂改为金鳌沙。[1]
百度百科另记该村又称芦溪，因村前河涌水溪芦草丛生而得名。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年村属乌沙乡。1958年，村与尧均、乌沙两地合组为乌沙大队，归道滘公社。1981年改称金鳌沙大队，划入洪梅公社。1983年称金鳌沙乡，1987年为金鳌沙管理区，1999年起成为村委会。[2]
经济与产业[edit]
政府网站记村内现有企业14家，外来人口约900人。[1]
2024年，村借助盘活村内土地的办法发展集体经济，一座占地18.2万平方米的产教融合园建成，引入的多为数字经济与智能制造企业。[3]
文化与荣誉[edit]
村内建有综合文化广场、儿童公园和村口公园。[1]
博雅地名网记，2019年9月金鳌沙村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。百度百科则记，2024年村获评东莞市“美丽庭院”典型村。[2][3]
