历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的资料，自民国到建国初期，村属甘竹邓滘沙，随后1950年改滩南乡，其后1954年属光东乡，之后1958年属光华大队，再后1959年改称东村大队，接着1999年定名东村村委会[1]。
经济[edit]
村内东方食品有限公司从事农产品深加工，为顺德的重要基地；其“甘竹牌”鱼罐头在2002年获评广东省著名商标[1]。2020至2022年东村连续入选淘宝村名单[1]。
