历史沿革[edit]
宋明时期属南海县西淋都平洲堡，清乾隆年间起归五斗口司；民国时期先后称平洲堡、平洲乡，其中1930年称平洲东约乡；中华人民共和国成立后仍是平洲乡的一部分，分别属三区、六区和十四区。[1]
