埔边村是汕尾市城区红草镇镇政府所在的行政村，城乡分类属镇中心区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，传说三百多年前，海城打铁街和沙巷的曾姓、福建大埔的张姓，以及博罗和揭西河婆的韩姓人家先后聚居在这片山埔的边上，村名由此而来。[1]1949年后属第五区，1965年归东风合作社，设南雅大队；其管理区在1989年设立，村委会则在1999年成立。[1]
名胜[edit]
红草镇的铜鼎山旅游区在埔边，面积120公顷，区政府网站注明为国家4A级景区。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月获广东省爱卫会授予“2021年广东省卫生村”称号；2026年1月被列为广东省“百千万工程”典型村（第二批）。[1]
