历史沿革[edit]

据地名志材料，村里办过一所专收革命烈属子女的私塾，建国后改称红星小学，村名由此而来。[1]

清代属苏州巡检司，民国属七区乙乡；1952年划归一区石坝乡，1986年归石坝镇象岭管理区，1990年设红星村民委员会。[1]

红星村在2022年10月被广东省农业农村厅认定为当年的「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产业是黑皮果蔗；2019年9月，村被列入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
