村落与留村圩同在一条河边，而处在河的上游，故称上村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

行政建置依次为：上村大队（1961年4月），乡人民政府（1983年9月），村委会（1986年11月），管理区办事处（1989年4月），上村村民委员会（1998年11月）。[1]
