村名取自村委会驻地：1998年经县政府批准设立，因设在留村圩而得名。[1]

行政建置依次为：留村大队（1961年4月），人民政府（1983年9月），留村村委会（1986年11月），管理区办事处（1989年4月），留村村民委员会（1998年11月）。[1]
荣誉[edit]
