塘美村是广州市增城区新塘镇的行政村，属革命老区，村、社两级的集体经济收入在2022年超过六千万元。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

相传五代后期，一位安徽籍的地方官员来此定居建村，当时正值南唐末年，取名「唐尾」，后来谐音写成塘美。[1]

新中国成立前称塘美，1951年土地改革后属塘美乡，1956年设上塘、下塘两个高级社，1958年合并为塘美大队，隶属新塘公社；1983年改为塘美乡，1987年设塘美村民委员会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

村面积的说法不一：博雅地名网记约6平方公里，百度百科记约4.5平方公里；户籍人口约3200人（百度百科称截至2008年），外来人口约两万。村有11个生产合作社，经济以土地出租和合作开发为主，百度百科称，村、社两级集体经济在2022年共收入6676万元，每人平均分红约1万元。[1][2]

塘美村在2022年进入淘宝村名单，2023年被评为广州市健康社区（村）。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

湛氏家族墓群在塘美村东圃社的汽车工业园内，为明代古墓，共四座，都是灰砂三合土版筑的交椅墓，其中一座是湛若水母亲陈太夫人墓，列入2009年9月公布的第四批增城市文物保护单位。[3]
