历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村子始建于南宋，起初由张姓居住，所以又叫张大村；元代在这里设乌石马驿，明洪武年间（博雅地名网括注为1372年），增城县在此设乌石巡检司，村名便以乌石为称。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村民小组6个，共300户、1293人，另有约200名外来人口；村集体收入主要来自土地和自建厂房出租，村里有民营企业20家，多数是服装加工企业，另有约15户农户种植香蕉和蔬菜，面积约300亩。[1]
2024年11月，乌石村被认定为广州市充分就业社区（村）。[1]
